Re: About the cat dandruff......
A way to switch a cat to new food is to mix the new food with the old food and gradually put in less and less of the old food until they are on the new food. If you are mixing old familiar kibble with a new wet food, it is possible for them to pick out the kibble and leave the wet food. But no matter what, they will ingest some of the new food anyway. Keep putting in less and less of the old. And feed them on a schedule. Plus remove any food that they didn't eat after thirty minutes and wait until the next feeding time. Usually once or twice a day for mature cats. More meals for kittens. As you are switching them, feed them twice a day.
It is a great idea to fast them with chicken broth, as was suggested. Plus it is another great idea to try mixing the newer food with other stinkier food. You really don't want to fast a domestic cat for too, too long, but as long as they are drinking broth in the meantime, they will be fine. Offer the broth in between the regular meals.
Cats become addicted to (usually the wrong) foods and it is a hard habit to break.
Aren't cats the best? The little finicky buggers they can be!
Again, be patient and don't panic. Your cat(s) will pick up on your energy as well. Send them confident energy and let them know you mean business for their best health. They will switch in time.
Ooops about sending the "link" that didn't work before... :)
Another good little inexpensive book to read is called Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats by Kymythy R. Schultze.
