Willards Water
I had some good luck with Willards Water. Here is my post from prior. My cats don't fight nearly as much, actually hardly at all anymore.

Willards Water is very safe, and has been approved by the FDA. One of the many uses of this water is to treat aggressive farm animals.
It is also safe for human consumption, and it cured by husbands 2nd degree burn in two days (literally, no scarring too).
I can't say enough about it, but I might start using it for the water dish of your older cat.
