ORGANIC BARF DIET!!!!Re: ORGANIC dog food suggestions?

I've had a puppy for a few weeks now. I have him on an organic BARF diet = Raw meaty bones (I buy organic only), also mixed offal, raw fish + some raw vegetables (he especially like carotts and celery) I add a little seaweed for minerals plus a tiny bit of flax oil for his coat.

I'm interested in my dog eating as close to nature as possible.

I'm shocked at the ingredients found in most commercial dog foods! When did a dog ever need sugar, soya, wheat etc??? OR articial colours and flavourings, msg, hydrogenated fats, milk/cheese??? These are all commonly found in commercial dog food!

I've been taking him to puppy school. Mine is the most calm and easy to train, it's obvious to me that his diet helps. Most of the other puppies are hyper and aggressive, with low attention ... I'm convinced that the commercial dog food and *treats* are to blame. Whilst others are using garlic sausuge and chunks of cheese to get their puppies to *sit* etc. I am using carrot chunks and pieces of raw chicken.

There are many websites talking about the BARF diet - do a google search. Also, some good books on the subject.
