They do have to detach you from the machine but the wires stay on you and you carry them with you. Yeah it kind of sucks, but it's just one night. Determine to relax the best you can, get through it and move on. They will be able to tell you if you have a disorder, and it could change your life for the better to have an answer. It's not the most comfortable nights sleep, but it's managable.
