Re: SPASMIC PAIN in right side of abdomen.
My husband just had this same problem for past 2 years, and on 8/28/06 at a business meeting it got very bad, pain was terrible rt side of abdomen, he drove home 7hrs praying all the way that he would make it home, I took him to our family doctor, they spent like hours on him poking and proding, etc. they didn't think it was apendicitis because of no pain with release of pressure on abdomen, they sent him to hospital, they got blood tests and his white cell count was 25, normal is 7, after several more hours a ct was done, they think it is a ruptured appendix, finally the idiots did surgery. He got peritonitis, and an ileus (blockage of intestine from infection and swelling)had to have nasogastric tube, in hosp for 9 days, right now is doing great lost about 15lbs. He is having the best bowel movements he has had in years, no abdominal pain, I say get to a Gastroenterologist to check out your appendix before it is too late, all the doctors told him and me he could have died from all the infection throughout his abdomen, and that I was very lucky to still have him here with me.
DEPENDING ON YOUR INSURANCE YOU MAY HAVE TO BE REFFERED BY YOU FAMILY DOCTOR, TO GASTRO SPECIALIST, BUT I WOULD INSIST HE GET YOU TO A GASTROENTEROLOGIST NOW!!!!!!
