Well it might be for you, but for my grandparents' house it wasn't. During the scorching summers that I've experienced in my childhood, inside it was very very cooler and there weren't any fans available. During the winter it was very warm due the presence of heat stored in the inner wall that is connected to the chimney/woodstove. I would give up living in an apartment for an opportunity to live in a cob house. For your information, the location of the house is bit farther north of the parallel 45th which is almost like Toronto, and I've experienced extreme opposites of the seasons as well and the cob house braved thru with no complaints.

PS: I'll try to do a sketch of the house in SketchUp software from http://www.sketchup.com (there's a free version with which you can play and make plans for yourself).
