Re: Ear wax peeling
The teeth themselves represent the intelligence you possess by which you process (chew) and incorporate new food for thought. This intelligence is in turn based on the knowledge and info that you have already acquired. The scene thus suggests a situation in which you have a need to “look at” the intelligence being used (going to a dentist to get my teeth looked at) in relation to a process you have been using (I have been oil swishing) [This dream might apply also to the process of listening to CD’s while asleep.] Yet here it is not the teeth (intelligence) that is being looked at. (he looks at my ears)
The ears obviously pertain to one’s sense of hearing. We usually think of ear wax as being inside the ears – where it can build up and obstruct one’s ability to hear. Yet here the wax is not obstructing your ability to hear as it is upon the outer ear surface – like a layer added to the skin. The wax added to the skin surface seems to suggest a “thickened skin”. This would imply a greater than usual self defensiveness pertaining to what is listened to or heard. [This might be quite important since what is listened to or heard can be knowledge and information that becomes part of one’s intelligence.]
Using on the ears a tool that can be associated with working with clay would emphasize the earthly nature of the ears. This implies that the ears –or the perception used when hearing or listening - is more worldly than spiritual. That it is your perception – the meaning or understanding you acquire from what is heard – is the main issue seems indicated by the fact that there is no wax build up in the ears in this scene. In other words, there is nothing wrong with the physical ability to hear. [This seems to relate with a statement made by Jesus – “Let those with ears hear”. An unblocked ear usually hears but how we perceive or understand what is heard is not always adequate.]
There is a mental aspect of yourself (the male dentist) which would remove the self defensiveness that may be acting as a hindrance to your ability to listen with perception (peeling wax off my ears). When you give more attention to your perceptive ability there is no need to worry about the intelligence being used. (If you'd take better care of your ears, we wouldn't have to worry about your teeth.)
