Re: Baby Immunizations

Dr. Clements, at page 247 suggests that: "this study should not have been done ... because the outcome could have ... been predicted, and ...now we are left hanging."

Dr. Bernier at page 113 says: "We have asked you to keep this information confidential ... basically keep this embargoed information."

And, perhaps most telling of all is a quote from Dr. Johnson at page 198: "My gut feeling? It worries me enough. Forgive this personal comment, but I got called out a[t] eight o'clock for an emergency call and my daughter-in-law delivered a son by C-section. Our first male in the line of the next generation, and I do not want that grandson to get a Thimerosal containing vaccine until we know better what is going on. It will probably take a long time. In the meantime, and I know there are probably implications for this internationally but in the meantime I think I want that grandson to only be given Thimerosal-free vaccines." (Emphasis added.)

Are you as stunned as I am? These medical doctors are admitting that they are aware that thimerosal containing vaccines are causing serious adverse health affects; they don't want the children in their families exposed to theses vaccines; they "embargo" the information from public scrutiny but they are willing to allow millions more children, in America and internationally, to be exposed to the dangers of thimerosal and to suffer the harm. To this day the use of thimerosal in vaccines has not been banned.

Evidence that vaccinations are neither safe nor effective.

MEASLES: In 1900 there were 13.3 measles deaths per 100,000 population. In 1955 (8 years before the measles vaccine) the death rate was .03/100,000. In the 1970's (post vaccine) the death rate was still .03/100,000. The most recent statistics (2000) from CDC indicates that there is 1 measles case for every one million citizens, and there were no deaths. Out of the reported 86 cases, vaccination status was known on 48, and 24 of those (50%) had been vaccinated. Most cases have been identified as being imported from other countries. The CDC states: "The consistently small number of unknown source cases suggests that measles is no longer endemic in the United States."

According to a study conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) (National Health Federation Bulletin, November 1969) chances are about 14 times greater that measles will be contracted by those vaccinated against the disease than by those who are left alone.

What is never mentioned by the CDC or vaccine proponents is the number of serious adverse health effects of vaccines. Here are the ones that concerned me:

1. Marcel Kinsbourne, M.D., of Tufts University asserts that autoimmune reactions have been reported for the measles vaccine.
2. In 1996 British and Danish researchers compared two groups of people aged 14-21. One group had never been vaccinated against measles but had contracted the disease and recovered. The other group had been vaccinated against the disease. 26% of the vaccinated group had allergic conditions compared to only 13% of those who had had measles and were not vaccinated. Other studies show vaccinated children have much higher incidences of asthma and allergies.
3. Measles vaccine can lead to the symptoms of measles.
4. All forms of measles vaccine contain neomycin, sorbitol and gelatin and the vaccine is grown in chick embryo cell culture. These materials can all cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
5. The measles vaccine may lead to an increased susceptibility to other infections according to Dr. P.G. Auwater based on research conducted in 1996.
6. The measles vaccine may have caused the measles virus to mutate. The CDC has identified 8 "wild measles viruses" throughout the world. The effects of these viruses are unknown.
7. The fetuses of pregnant women are at risk because the measles vaccines these women received as children do not protect them from contracting measles during their pregnancies. If these same women had had measles as children they would have a lifelong immunity to measles and their unborn children would not be at risk.

CHICKEN POX: Chicken Pox is a mild disease which was dangerous only for vulnerable populations (eg. cancer victims). Merck Laboratories, the exclusive maker of chicken pox vaccine, persuaded the federal government to mandate the vaccine for all children based on economics. It presented evidence that businesses would save $400 million if parents did not have to take time off to care for children with chicken pox. However, there are many side effects of the chicken pox vaccine which have health care costs associated with them which were not taken into account for the economic analysis. These include:

1. Shingles is now found in children whereas previously it was found almost exclusively in people over 50 who had had chicken pox.
2. The chicken pox vaccine contains sucrose, phosphate, glutamate and gelatin which can cause allergic reactions to sensitive people.
3. Up to 5% of vaccinated people get a mild case of chicken pox within a year of the vaccination.
4. If given to pregnant women, the vaccine can cause chicken pox and cause birth defects.
5. The vaccine can cause fever (1 out of 10).
6. The vaccine can cause tenderness and swelling at injection site (1 out of 5 for children; 1 out of 3 for adolescents).
7. The vaccine can cause mild rash (1 out of 20 or fewer); those with a rash can infect others.
8. The vaccine can cause seizures (caused by fever) (1 out of 1000).
9. The vaccine can cause pneumonia (rare).
10. The vaccine can cause low blood count (rare).
11. The vaccine can cause severe brain reactions (rare).
12. The vaccine can cause shock.
13. The vaccine can cause convulsions.
14. The vaccine can cause thrombocytopenia (failure of blood platelet production resulting in bleeding disorders).
15. The vaccine can cause encephalitis.
16. The vaccine can cause death.
17. The chicken pox virus may be secreted in breast milk with unknown consequences.
18. The vaccine has not been tested for carcinogenic potential.
19. The vaccine has not been tested for the potential to impair fertility or mutagenic effect.
20. The vaccine prevents natural lifelong immunity from the natural disease.
21. Adulthood chicken pox disease is much more dangerous.
22. The vaccine can cause difficulty in breathing.
23. The vaccine can cause hoarseness or wheezing.
24. The vaccine can cause weakness.
25. The vaccine can cause fast heartbeat.
26. The vaccine can cause dizziness.
27. The vaccine can cause hives.

The CDC has reported that between 1995-1998 there were 67.5 adverse events per 100,000 doses The CDC goes on to state that it is believed only 10% of adverse events are reported. Adverse events have been correlated to contemporaneous MMR injections.

As noted above, the chicken pox vaccine was developed to prevent chicken pox in children with leukemia and other cancers. However, the CDC recommends that the vaccine not be given to such children or those with compromised immune systems for fear of serious adverse effects.

HEPATITIS B: Hepatitis B is not common in childhood and is not highly contagious. It is primarily an adult disease transmitted through infected body fluids, most frequently infected blood, and is prevalent in high risk populations such as needle using drug addicts; sexually promiscuous heterosexual and homosexual adults; residents and staff of custodial institutions such as prisons; health care workers exposed to blood; persons who require repeated blood transfusions and babies born to infected mothers. On the other hand there are many side effects to the vaccine itself, some very serious:

A. Those identified by the CDC :
1. soreness at site of injection for a day or two (1 out of 11 for children and 1 out of 4 for adults)
2. mild to moderate fever (1 out of 14 for children and 1 out of 100 for adults)
3. serious allergic reaction (rare) including hives, wheezing, paleness, weakness, fast heart beat, dizziness, and difficulty breathing
B. Side effects identified by the manufacturers which affect 17% of those who receive the vaccines:
1. fatigue
2. diarrhea
3. headache
4. throat and upper respiratory infection
5. lightheadedness
6. chills
7. vomiting
8. stomach pains or cramps
9. loss of appetite
10. nausea
11. sweating
12. flu
13. rash
14. arthritis-like pain
15. swollen lymph nodes
16. insomnia
17. earache
18. low blood pressure
C. Side effects reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS)
1. Between July 1990 and December 1998, 17,497 reports of injuries, hospitalizations and deaths occurred as a result of Hepatitis B vaccines (remember, only 10% of adverse effects are reported).
1. 73 deaths of children under 14
2. 146 deaths in people who received the Hepatitis B vaccine alone, without other vaccines
2. In 1996 alone there were 872 reported serious adverse reactions in children younger than 14 1. 658 were in children receiving Hepatitis B in combination with other vaccines, 214 were from Hepatitis B alone 2. 48 children died; 35 had received Hepatitis B with other vaccines and 13 had the Hepatitis B vaccine alone (compare these statistics with the number of children under 14 contracting Hepatitis B: 279. Thus, to potentially prevent 278 cases of Hepatitis B, 48 children died and 872 had serious side effects. Again, assuming a report rate of 10%, this means 480 children died and 8720 had serious side effects.)
4. Since Hepatitis B vaccines were introduced, VAERS has received more than 60,000 reports of adverse effects. Many reports include demyeliting diseases (such as Multiple Sclerosis) and arthritis-like diseases. These are classified as "unresolved" by VAERS. Reports in which victims claim the following adverse reactions are not considered or counted by CDC as adverse reactions because CDC denies a causal connection.
1. sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)
2. multiple sclerosis
3. Guillain-Barre (paralyzing disease of the nerves)
4. visual disturbances
5. shingles
6. seizures
5. Researchers in Italy presented the results of a long term Hepatitis B study at a June 200 annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association in San Antonio, TX. They reported that children who received the Hepatitis B vaccine were 34% more likely to develop diabetes than unvaccinated children.
6. Dr. Byron Hyde, M.D., Chairman of the Nightingale Research Foundation in Ottowa, Canada, has documented post Hepatitis B adverse reactions in nurses and other health-care workers which include:
1. pain
2. mental dysfunction
3. fatigue
4. blindness
5. skin lesions
6. measurable loss of I.Q.
7. Between 1990-1999 VAERS received reports from 76 people asserting they had MS-like symptoms within two to three months after a Hepatitis B shot. VAERS discounts claims of an MS-Hepatitis B link. However, in 1998 a French court ruled that SmithKline Beecham's Hepatitis B vaccine used in French public schools caused a child to get MS. As a result, France stopped the Hepatitis B vaccine program in schools.

Further, Bonnie Dunbar, PhD, professor of cell biology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, who is an expert in the development of vaccines, believes Hepatitis B causes autoimmune disease like MS. Her brother became disabled with an MS-like condition after receiving a Hepatitis B vaccination. Additionally, Dr. Dunbar's research assistant became partially blind after receiving a Hepatitis B shot. Dr. Dunbar is doing an investigation to determine what is happening. She theorizes that it is the genetic engineering of the vaccine that triggers an autoimmune response.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has turned down Dr. Dunbar's grant requests for research funds to study this issue. NIH and other government agencies have been quoted as saying: "There is no confirmed evidence that Hepatitis B vaccine causes chronic illness, including Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome (chronic fatigue syndrome), Rheumatoid Arthritis or autoimmune disorders." And these agencies are making sure that U.S. tax dollars are not used to provide such scientific evidence.

Shouldn't vaccine manufacturers be required to prove their products are safe rather than U.S. Citizens having to prove they are unsafe with no resources to do so?

8. Hepatitis B vaccine is manufactured using yeast. Yeast can cause allergic reactions in those who are sensitive to it
