Re: liver and raw foods
I just learned about this chart recently- the NaPCaK chart. (for more info
http://www.eco-eating.com)
It seems that on the chart sodium is associated with yang, potassium with yin, calcium with alkalinity and phosphorus with acidity.
I've heard several times that raw foodists tend not to get enough sodium in their diet- perhaps this is what is meant by low yang?
I have a simplified version of the chart in front of me, so let me tell you the good raw foods that are on the sodium/yang side (starting with the saltiest)
Wakame, Kelp (Kombu), Hijiki, Olives, Beets, Celery, Dandelion green, Kale, Spinach, Turnip, Carrot and Collard.
It's understandable that you'd run into this sodium problem since so many raw foods are on the yin side of the chart. Try to increase your intake of these foods and hopefully you won't be cold!
Hope this helps :)
