hmm. About being a senior. These days "development tourism" is big even (maybe especially) among seniors. There's a project in 2007 to build a natural history museum in Nicaragua--that sounds wonderful. Maybe there's a discount for being senior?

oh and there's this: "Renowned Architect Douglas Cardinal to Design Strawbale Museum for Pangea" Do you know his work? He's the architect for the National Museum of civilization in Ottawa/Gatineau. Quite a breathtaking building with a gorgeous 'great hall'.

here's one, not in Canada, but in Oregon--sounds like they did a fun project in Mexico last year. Take a look. I very much like the notion of the "development" aspect of Development tourism, as it's called. I just don't really go for the "tourism" part. I must say it's a bit odd to see websites like this not being regularly updated. Makes things look as bit like they are sliding. Oh well.

One last thing--I was just reading about a group of women who built a vauted straw bale structure partly as spiritual practice in that they built it as a hermitage on some sacred land, and practised silence while they built, stopping every hour to meditate for five minutes.
