Re: is the scan accurate?

Hi, Dinia

I send you well wishes.. I was thinking of you this morning!

I would imagine that the larger the baby the more accurate the date estimation from the scan. But how did you all determine you are 14 weeks along anyhow? And what is your feeling on it?

I saw my OB/GYN for a few visits this time (then switched to a midwife) and they used a scan to help determine the due date too. I was very surprised to find their estimation was almost one month later than I thought...saying the baby was 9 weeks old when I was thinking it to be only six.

Well it turns out maybe my intuition was better because according to the way the baby is growing, I am not due till mid-October...3 weeks later than that office predicted.

Time will tell...and as the saying goes..the baby comes when the baby comes.

If the pregnancy is healthy there is no problem to wait for the baby. With my second child I had to challenge my doctor for him to agree putting off inducing labor one more week - and she came on her own within that week. My third was also 'one week late'.

All of mine have been 'late' so to speak, but as said, what is 'late' really?

Enjoy your time!

Love much
Lori
