Vegetarian in need of support!!!!

I am a fairly new vegetarian and I really think I am doing the right thing and I thought people would respect my decision totally, but I'm now finding myself not even wanting to tell people or even talk about it. Everyone says things like, "oh, that won't last." or, "You'll get over it." or, "It's just a phase, your not going to go your whole life w/o eating meat." My mom was the only one that didnt really make a weird remark but yet everynight she cooks any type of meat she still offers me some!!!! I don't understand why I can't get support or why people take this as a joke. I am sooo happy about my choice that I'm even looking to get more involved but yet I feel like I don't want to share this experiance with anyone. Does anyone have any advise on maybe what to say to people like this or how to keep believing in what i'm doing even w/o support? Tweet
