well sure you would, provided that your soil has the bacteria in it, not all soil does. thats one of the things that fermented mulch does. you can add EM to your mulch, then add it to your soil, and then you would be sure to be getting some.

another thing, its the bacteria and other micro-organisms that convert the minerals in the soil into a form that is usable by your plants. so if your soil has little or no organisms, you will grow mineral-deficient plants. if your soil is teeming with beneficial bacteria, you will grow highly mineralized produce that will do wonder for you health.
