apple cider vinegar and throat irritation

I started taking ACV for acid reflux and though I felt it was working after one day, it ittitated my already irritated throat though I dilluted it some. should I lay off till the irritation subsides or dillute it better?
also, granted I had only taken it about 3 times I was still tasting acid in my mouth at points. is that normal? perhaps I was too anxious for it to work right away
