I use baby oil, I imagine orange oil or any number of oils would work. I have used regular cooking oil to remove adhesive residues many times.
Baby oil is very good with hard water buildup; I clean with a normal cleanser and scrub, then use a cloth to apply the oil in circular motion to remove any remaining buildup on doors and the steel areas, leaves them gleaming. It is also very nice on faucets to return them to sparkling. You do not need much oil, just a touch on the cloth and it does not leave an oily mess...just a gleaming shine that repels future water buildup.
(I mainly was mentioning it not for the cleaning properties, but to help explain how it can clean teeth and seem to repel stains at the same time).
