Re: HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, by MH
In 2001, on September 10 to be exact, I collapsed at work and was rushed to the local small town clinic. My blood pressure was something like 188/119. I was put on blood pressure medication that cost over 10% of my salary and was told I would be on it the rest of my life. That drug never got my blood pressure under 160/110. When I complained about that I got put on an anti-depressant, a SSRI that was also extremely expensive. For good measure the Doctor also prescribed NEXIUM for GERD (reflux disease). I was told that I would be on these drugs for the rest of my life. My prescription bill was about $300.00 a month and going up. I could not afford this.
A year later when I injured my back I went to a Chiropractor and became interested in natural healing. After three Master Cleanse fasts I lost 35 pounds and my blood pressure went down to normal. Chiropractic care took care of my reflux disease, plus what I was told was carpal tunnel syndrome. I don't think I ever needed the anti-depressant. I was off prescription drugs and doing better than ever.
After a car accident last November I have suffered from another neck injury. I failed to get enough proper care early on after the accident. I also succumbed to a lot of bad eating habits over the holidays and have not completely turned from bad eating, although I am very much improved since my legs quit working in March. Right now I am preparing to try my first orange juice fast, although I may segue into the Master Cleanse at some point for variety. I feel like I am starting over. Still, I know that natural healing can work, it has before, and I hope it will again. The thing I dread most is surgery and steroids. This may be in my future, but for now I am going to do everything I can to avoid getting back in the allopathic trap.
I few days ago I wrote that I was resigned to having surgery. Your reply and this post I'm responding to have helped strengthen my resolve to do what I can to allow my body to heal itself. Thank you for giving me this push.
