Re: photosensitivity/no moisture
hi aunty
i have never had this tingling sensation before or during taking any medication, i was on this particular medication for around 3 years. The retinyl palmitate cream i was on for about 7 months. As i said before when tapering off the anti-depressant which i did over a period of 4 weeks, i started noticing a change in my skin, unaware that the meds might be doing this. You would have thought that this would have happened whilst on the drugs not coming off them. Anyway the reason why i talk about my skin at the moment is that it has sent me into a depressed state causei can't go out. My skin is currently tingling and itching so much especially when i subject myself to london sun and pollution that i feel like jumping out of my window. At the moment i am using using argan oil on my skin in the evening. As for sunscreens its a difficult one, the so called natural ones a lot have essential oils in them which from what i hear is no no..so natural isn't always best.
In my research i have found that a lot of natural products have severe irritants in them and that they are oil based as well also all these products need
preservatives in them and i have found that in so called natural products these
preservatives aren't the best thing for treating my skin.
Anyway i don't know and it seems that everyone i speak to does't have much of an answer either. As for vitamin a synthetic u say, i was using a moisturiser called environ with rentinyl palmitate in it and from what i have seen nearly every natural product line uses this form of vitamin A in their products, one such brand being jurilque.
Also jurlique uses a lot of alcohol in their skin products which is very drying to the skin and tea tree oil. I tried several of their products and it drove my skin mad. Also tried dr.hauscka/ living nature/lavera..all these products arent as natural and good for the skin as you may think. Can i also point out that rose oil acts as retinoid on the skin as well and its natural.
So as you can see i am a bit confused and the fact that when i apply the sunscreen which i need to use to go out with then i am dosing a lot more chemicals on my face.I wouldnt mind but when you are getting this tingling sensation all the time on the face then you will try anything.
you talk about vitamin a in the diet, i am currently taking high strenghts of beta carotene in supplement form which i would have thought would have been ok. My diet is very good and i hav eat and juice greens every day.
I am also seeing a acupuncturist/herbalist who doesn't know whats going on so i am going to see a chinese skin specialist, also seeing a naturopath who has been guessing as well, i have spoken to the company regards these meds but they arent goin to tell me anything that would incriminate themselves and i am now seeing a cranal sacral guy. I did a
Liver Flush a few weekends ago but nothing happened, i didn't even go to the toilet strange eh.
Anyway the fight continues , ooo by the way the pharmacist she reckoned that i came off the meds to quickly and that it might be a good idea that i go back on them, i laughed at her and asked if she was completely insane.
ciao
