ALS and sounds experience

Hello,

My name is Encarna Gomez.

My father has ALS. The only things that are still completely functioning for him are his brain, hearing, speech and limited movement of his head. Everything else was almost dead.

I was trying to look for something to help him, anything!!! and came-up with zero.

Last week I got a link from a friend of mine to a website where they sell healing sounds for many diseases, amongst them ALS. I ordered it and played it to my father for a whole day until he told his nurse to turn it off.

The next day the nurse called me and said that he started to move his left arm and fingers. I was out of town so I told her to keep on playing these sounds all the time. When I came to see him he was still moving his left arm and fingers and the toe of his right leg.

I learned to be very skeptic with ALS options and I do not know what caused this improvement and how it happened. I heard that sometimes ALS patients might get back some functioning. Yet the fact that it happened right after he was listening to the sounds might indicate a connection.

It looks poor that this is what available for ALS patients, but even little help counts.
