The Trenton Times is running a letter I wrote in tomorrows, 9/11, edition:
First lady Laura Bush has urged American's to keep the TV off on 9/11. I wholeheartedly agree with this idea and think that we should use it as a springboard for more news avoidance. We do not need to relive the tragic events of last year as we have been reliving them all year anyway. We can all reflect on this tragedy personally and offer prayers for the country in our own homes.
Dr. Richard Schulze has recommended for years that we do not watch television news as the stressful images wreck havoc with our hormones causing unnecessary stress.
A much better way to get our news is through the NJ Times. We have much better control reading something than we do with images thrust upon us.
Let's start avoiding all television news Wednesday and continue for the rest of the year.
