Re: AntiBiotics Overload???

thoughts? yes i have thoughts. my thought is that in my time here it seems that more people complain of downward spiralling health after taking anti-biotics than nearly any other prescription drug.

you may have a "spastic colon" (whatever the hell thats supposed to mean) but its almost certainly from the Antibiotics . there are two forms of bacteria in your intestines -beneficial and toxic. the beneficial bacteria do a whole host of critical jobs, without them your bowels don't work well and can totally shut down. the anti-biotics kill ALL the bacteria, good or bad. so that leaves you in a precarious position, one that can deteriorate quickly, as you have seen.

doctors NEVER EVER tell anyone that the bowels depend on beneficial bacteria for their continued health, and also NEVER tell you that anti-biotics kill that bacteria.

you NEED to repopulate your intestinal flora. its the key to bowel health. here is a great article from dr. mercola on it. you have to give them your email address, but they nver spam. dr. mercola is a health hero, his site is chock full of great info.

if i were you i would get some kefir and some probiotic supplements. kefir is made from a different strain of probiotics than are present in most probiotic supplements, this means if you take both kefir and probiotics you will be getting a very wide range of beneficial bacteria. make sure you buy "organic" kefir. you can even make your own, its not hard at all.

i buy my supplements from http://www.swansonvitamins.com i think they have the best prices on the web. here is the product i recomend for you. there are some less expensive products, but you needs LOTS of good probiotics. this one has very high counts of micro-organisms.

then i would recomend you take some FOS. this is the food that the probiotics (probiotic is just another name for beneficial bacteria) feed on. its inexpensive.

you can open up the capsules and mix them right into the kefir. then add your favorite sweetner like black strap molasses or raw honey, or fruit, but NO White Sugar !! it tastes really great.

also a good fiber supplement would be good idea. i like flax seeds, freshly ground. they don't cause bloating that can happen with psyllium. the seeds are very cheap, and you can grind them yourself with a coffee bean grinder.

good luck to you!
