Re: Walmart Organics?

I subscribe to "The Heirloom Gardener". A couple of years ago they had an article about Sam Waltons(founder of walmart) son, can't remember his name. Lets call him "Peter"! Well...Peter's son had some sort of childhood cancer. The child was healed with an organic diet, for one.
"Peter" has an organic garden in southern California. The article was about the garden, his gardener & her assistants. His gardener fed-exes them fresh produce, strewn with orange blossoms, or whatever lovely flower or herb in season, daily. See, "peter" lives somewhere in the pacific Northwest.
When I read that article, I was disgusted. "Let them eat cake" ?
So, it's hard to know the intentions of walmart in this case. Are they offering organic produce because of a belief in organics "Peter" MUST HAVE!!!???
His son was healed of cancer!!!
Or is it walmarts usual motivation, profits?
walmart makes a practice of screwing over suppliers. Thier insistence on cheap prices from their suppliers has driven many American companies overseas
What will they do to our organic suppliers?
The same thing, no doubt. They're so powerful that they'll have the definition of organic changed!
They'll insist on cheap prices. They'll drive even more small farmers out of business.
Don't buy from them. Pay the higher prices at your local health food store,
co-op, or farmer's market.
Walmart does not have our health in mind!
whew, feel better now that I've got that out of my system... :D
