please help - itching & lots of discharge :(

i've had a decent amount of discharge for as long as i can remember. i wear a pantyliner most days and will sometimes fold up some toilet paper and put it in my panties if i'm without liners. it drives me crazy sometimes. it doesn't ever smell really (sometimes a tiny bit), but i've tasted it and it's sour. i don't know if that's common or not. lately, the past few months, it seems heavier. it seems like every time i stand up i'm discharging (like it was help up and waiting for me to get up so it could come out). i didn't wear a liner today because i was in a hurry and noticed that it was a little chunky. not a lot, just a few small white spots that weren't liquidy. is this cottage cheese discharge?

i don't have sex very often, only once in a while. i've started to use a divacup during my period, so i don't know if this is related, but i've started itching right around the opening to my vagina once my period is over. it's not a bad itch, it only really starts up when i touch the area (like wiping after peeing). i can just rub with a finger (no nails) for a few seconds, and it's ok, but then it hurts the next day and will sometimes crack or bleed where i'd itched it too aggressively. the last time i had sex, i itched after for a day or so, too.

anyone have any ideas? i've checked out webmd and can't find anything that would really explain it.
