Equality, Illinois...VERY Haunted House! :-)

We have an old home in Southern Illinois. They call it the
Old Slave House, because it housed slaves a gazillion years
ago. It has always been said to be haunted. And it was also
said that no one had ever been able to spend the night in the
old slave house...and stay till dawn. So quite a few years
ago, someone began offering money to anyone who would try and
would stay till morning. MANY tried! Even the news media,
radio, and tv...tried. But no one has ever been able to stay
the whole night through.
They say the sights and sounds are HORRID! It is told that
4 soldiers just home from the army, tried several decades
ago...and 2 of them ran out in the middle of the night...screaming for dear life...the other 2 were found dead
the next morning. THAT'S THE STORY AS WE'VE ALL HEARD IT FOR
YEARS..DON'T SHAKE YOUR HEAD AND LAUGH AT ME!!! :-)
Last year, our daughter who works at a local radio station,
tried to get them to send someone up there...and they said,
"Not a way in the WORLD!" :-)
I'm a very strong christian...have very old fashioned values...and am just not "into" weird, far out stuff. But
I'll have to admit...some things just can't be explained.
I wish I had time to tell my ghost story...maybe another day
before Halloween...it's a doozie...and the gospel truth...
