The Free Stuff

I know it's easy to get sticker shock when you're trying to heal or treat a disease that has been declared incurable. The Incurables Program costs $424 when not on sale. A new juicer can cost $300-400. A distiller costs $120 at Sears. Good vitamins cost $80-90 a month, and you'll need to supplement even more. There are oils, flaxseed, bee pollen and royal jelly. There are other herbs such as Complete Tissue Formula by Dr. Christopher. If you get into an all-raw diet, there's nuts and seeds along with a lot of organic produce to buy. You will want a food processor and blender, and maybe a citrus juicer. There are products for enemas, and you'll want to get your mercury Amalgam dental fillings out at some point.

But some stuff is free! Hallelujah!

Get outside and start exercising! Yes, the muscular dystrophy patient, the one who can't step up a curb or climb stairs, the one who has to have someone help get them dressed, the one who can't reach the top of your head to comb your hair, the one who can't get the milk jug out of the refrigerator- get outside and start walking!

Here's a little testimony. Barbara Volz had Charcot Marie Tooth disease. She went to the best doctors and clinics in the world. They all told her there was nothing that could be done. We've heard that same death sentence, haven't we? Barbara got a vision from Christ and knew she would be healed. She thanked her doctors, grabbed her crutches, and went home. She found a naturopathic doctor who told her exactly what I am going to tell you. She got out there and started walking. She said it was so painful it was killing her. She heard the Lord say "You're dying anyway- keep walking." She obeyed the Lord, and walked and walked and walked, she told me. In ONE month, she ran- RAN- all the way home.

Get a cute workout suit if it will motivate you. If you're already in a wheelchair, practice standing up. Make yourself do it. Dr. Schulze tells stories where he used to take wheelchair bound patients and throw them out into the ocean in freezing cold weather. He said they moved!! hah! We can do a whole lot more than we think we can. We can wimp out and be the victim and wait for the next tearful telethon, or we can start to get well.

When we are out there, we will be getting a whole Earth's atmosphere of fresh air to pour into our lungs. Breathe deeply and fill up those lungs to the very top, then exhale all the stale, bad, old air. Also, open the windows wide in nice weather, and open them a crack in the winter. The air in our bedrooms gets so stale, and we muscular dystrophy patients need- NEED- fresh air.

Also while out there, we'll be getting some sunshine. Listen, sunshine actually makes muscles stronger. I think it's the Vitamin D reacting with our body chemicals. Even when it's freezing we can at least get some sun on our faces. As the weather warms up, or as our bodies warm up from exercise, we need to expose as much of our skin to the sun as we can. I burn easily, so I recommend that fair skinned people like me start with maybe five or ten minutes of sun exposure (if it's late spring/summer)and add a couple of minutes a day. But don't let burning easily be your excuse not to go outside.

"Basically" free is hydrotherapy. I have really benefitted from taking a hot/cold shower every morning and night. You turn the water on and jump in the shower- OK, if you're in a wheelchair, you roll into the shower- and turn the water to as hot as you can stand it, and stand there watching your skin turn red for a minute. Then you shut off the hot and let totally cold water hit you for a minute. It's Ok to scream and holler and have a good time in there. Then slam on the hot for a minute, and switch to freeze mode for a minute. You repeat these hot/cold sessions 7 times, for a total shower time of 15 minutes. End with cold in the morning- brrrr, you'll be awake! At night, you can end with a nice hot soaking bath to relax those muscles. This hot bath helps to keep my legs from cramping so badly at night, so I sleep better.

Temperence is free- we call it emotional stability, or a stress-free lifestyle. If we start noticing the sources of stress and what I call negative energy, and avoid those things, I believe we will heal faster. I have a sensitive spirit. I can't watch the TV news because it's all bad. I can't hear about murders and how many of our soldiers have fallen. I'm a military mom and I think, "that could have been my son." God has given me a peace about my son, but I still have to be careful. I can't watch most movies. I really can't stand it when any of my family members are out of sorts.

I'm also sensitive the other way, too. I love laughter and funny jokes and family gatherings. I love the sound of trickling water and soft wind chimes. I love the way brushed cotton feels on my skin, and I love classical music, hymns, great jazz, and praise music. You get the idea. If I feel myself get stressed, panicked, anxious, or fearful, I can confess it to the Lord, and as quickly as possible, go to these places, even if they are mental places, which calm me back down.

Rest and sleep are free. Boy, do I know how fatigued we feel. I stopped using an alarm clock. Who wants to be shocked the first thing in the morning? I found out by not using an alarm clock that my body needs a full eight hours of sleep a night right now. I have to establish a daily regimine that reflects that need. I have to respect the fact that my body is slower than normal and I tire easily. I can't push myself to the limit one day and then crash the next day.

The most important things that are free are faith in God and a positive attitude. Man hasn't been able to cure this disease with his drugs, has he? We have to turn to God and His natural ways of healing. It's vital to have time with God on a daily basis, to pray and seek God's wisdom. Man's wisdom isn't enough. We can say positive affirmations that speak powerful words for our bodies to hear. After a while we start believing those words, and at some point, those words become our reality. It works in the negative and it also works in the positive. I can say "I love my life!" and "I am getting stronger every day!" and "God is working a miracle in my life right at this very moment!" You can quote scriptures and say them back to God- "By His [Jesus'] stripes I AM healed!" and praise Him. Thank you, Lord! It is so cool, and all free.

So even if you don't have any money, there are a lot of things you can do to get stronger and healthier. I hope you choose to do them. Any step in the right direction is a good step.

Many blessings,
-Donna
