Just a simple story

You were talking about your wonderful, peaceful, home.

I went to Seattle with my husband and oldest son to meet his future inlaws before the wedding. We had a wonderful time.

My future daughter-in-law's home is a 3/2.5/2 two story that is 1600 sq ft, but it has a finished walk out basement. Her bedroom window faces the Olympic Mountains. Every morning she wakes up to the sound of happy birds and drinks in fresh, cool, mountain air, possibly moistened by a misty rain. All around the homesites are evergreens and flowers beyond imagination.

The home is light and bright. Every window is a view of mountains or forest, plus the cluster of homes in the neighborhood. There isn't any clutter. There isn't any dirt. There isn't that much furniture- only what is needed. What is there is beautifully appointed. The kitchen is surprisingly large for the square footage of the house, and in the picture window is a large bird feeder with every kind of bird in the Northwest visiting it daily.

In the living room is a studio piano. All three of the girls in the family are accomplished musicians. The parents wanted their daughters to be able to serve in the church as adults, and this is how they do it. One daughter is opening her own piano studio and already has 40 students. 20 started this summer.

They don't have a TV. They do have a video player so they can watch certain teaching tapes. They do have a radio to get the news. What you hear at this home is music. The classics and the great hymns are played from morning till night, as all of the girls take their turn at the piano.

They are very healthy people. They aren't as radical as I am having to be, but their meals are very nutritious and served with love. They also love getting out in the outdoors for walks, hikes, canoeing, cycling, whatever.

Every night before retiring, my son's future fatehr in law reads a passage from the Bible and has a short devotion and prayer time. Then all are dismissed.

What a sweet life. I just loved it. Your comfy surroundings with the real vintage tablecloth reminded me of this.

Blessings,
-Donna
