Get a juicer!
I have to tell you about my secret weapon- a juicer! Let me tell you,
juicing will save your life. The quick summary of why
juicing is so important is this: you want to put into your body as many live, raw (uncooked), nutritious vegetables and fruits as you can. There is no way anybody is going to eat five
pounds of carrots every single day. But you can juice the carrots, which becomes nearly two
quarts of pure liquid nutrition that is easily assimilated into your body and sent quickly to your cells. You're not only going to be
juicing carrots, but apples and other fruit, bunches of celery, cucumbers, peppers, garlic, leafy vegetables, and parsley.
I use a Champion juicer that I bought used for $100. You can find used ones on ebay for around that price pretty often. New ones cost around $400-500. There are other brands that other people like for different reasons, but I'm happy with my Champ.
If you buy organic produce, you can throw the washed produce right in the hopper (quarter apples first). Otherwise you have to peel the produce first. You will love the taste of freshly juiced apples and cantaloupe. You can throw frozen strawberries in there for strawberry ice "cream." You can even make your own nut butters- cashew butter is to die for and almond butter has more calcium in it than milk! Now that apples are coming into season, I'm going to experiment with making raw apple butter and applesauce- "legal" on IP!
You need a juicer if you want to get well. Go ahaead and start shopping for one now.
