Re: you are a true philosopher... amberlynn!!
"I HAVE A BRAIN!"
yes you do! and you have a big heart.
the heart isn't separated from the brain as commonly believed.
i notice that people are inclined to certain kinds of "truths" depending on the "size" of their heart
and then they spend the rest of the time justifying what they have already instinctively felt to be true, with their brain, or the lack thereof.
this is to say that people with smallish hearts that can be easily satisfied with the "ready made" answers about existence provided by a rigid reading of a particular religion, or the *norms* of a given society, cling to that and use their brains merely to justify their acceptance of such way of living.
it is how they find comfort in life. their hearts fit into the ready made frock, let's say.
for those people, anyone not "open" to their doctrine is being "closed minded"
but there are those who are finely tuned to the paradox of existence itself, who cannot accept such "easy" answers which does not embrace all the complexities of life.
and your simple, brave and honest declaration: "i don't know why we have children" put everything in a nutshell that almost made me want to weep with joy and pain at the same time - joy for your wisdom and pain for your life sufferings that made you so wise. it was all the more powerful because it appeared in the middle of the most banal, hackneyed and misguided arguments for having children.
i've not been so moved by a posting on curezone before.
thank you for sharing your life and thoughts with us.
respectfully,

ps. i'm sure that you are a also a wonderful mom.
