Case Scenario #2

Dawn has a very abusive husband. She is 39. She has lived in the same town with him her whole life. It's a pretty isolated place. Her parents are very old, and live in convalescent care. Her in-laws have never liked her.

Dawn has never had children because her husband has threatened to hurt her should this happen. She feels very hopeless, and has classic battered women's syndrome, and cannot imagine escaping her prison. Everyone in town knows them and went to school with them. They have no idea that Dawn is being abused, and think her husband is a great guy.

One night her husband comes home very drunk, and forces himself on her. She finds out 4 weeks later that she is pregnant. She is afraid for her life. There is no place to go. The prison walls are in her mind, but the abuse is very real.
