Re: Fasting and weight loss
SO glad you hung in there... You CAN do it!
About the weight loss; it's really so hard to predict. I have fasted many times, and thought I knew how my own weight loss pattern, but this fast has definitely proved me wrong. I feel the really important thing is to keep on fasting until I reach my goal, because even if it's not coming off, I'm getting healthier, and that will help me lose more weight (and keep it off) in the long run.
I've come to trust my body. It knows what needs the most urgent attention. I tend to focus on what I can see, but maybe it's taking care of something far more serious that I can't see. I'm going to give it a chance to do a thorough cleaning, and I know that burning the fat is part of that. But it's gonna happen on my body's schedule, not my mind's.
I hope that makes sense. Because I really do feel like this fast is just as successful as the others, even if the weight loss is much slower.
The exercise will increase your metabolism. Just remember that muscle may make fat loss look slower than it really is. That's why I'm using measurements as another tool. My clothing is fitting SO much better, and that's great positive feedback. Stick with it, and you'll be amazed at the overall progress. Sometimes it helps to look at the big picture, but it's hard when we're focused on the number on the scale. I still can't help myself weighing every day. And I do feel more motivated when I see movement. The little to no weight loss days are hard to get past. At some point I'm going to put the scale away, and only take it out once a week. But for now, I am addicted to it!
Best wishes for your cleanse...
