Re: must - fight - craving -
Sorry I wasn't around the boards earlier, or I could have piped in my 2 cents worth. I had a rough day myself, feeling like 9 days was good, and I wanted to eat! Everything was tempting me last night and today. So I called everyone I could get ahold of and re-committed myself to not eating for the LONG haul. The food will be there later.
We are doing this for ourselves. Our health. Our self-esteem...
Yes, you could eat and start over tomorrow, but then you'll just have to face Days 2 & 3 again. Is it worth it?
I feel SO glad tonight that I resisted and stayed the course (I definitely wasn't strong... I was pathetically weak. But my buddies propped me up. Especially my 18 yr old niece.)
If you did give in, just get back on tomorrow. You don't want to start the "one more day" cycle again. It's your chance to make it through the whole month of April.
If you didn't give in, keep going. You can still do 30 days OR through the end of April. You don't have to decide now. Just get focus on making it through the first rough days. Then, you will know you CAN do it. The next time you're tempted (like I was on Days 8&9), you'll know you can resist, and feel better for it. Put up a picture of a healthier, happier, slimmer you. Start a blog if it will help you work through your relationship with food. Give yourself the gift of time... time to cleanse, time to lose weight, time to adjust to your new, healthier way of living. You can do this. You deserve it. And only you can give the gift!
