Re: Diet soda?
I don't remember the how the whole mechanism works, but apparently, even artificial sweeteners, including the herb Stevia, stimulate the release of insulin into the bloodstream. High insulin levels cause body fat to be retained. There is a real relationship between high insulin and body fat. I have the information in one of my books, but I have a huge stack to go through. The best thing to do is to stop feeding the body sweet tasting foods. Try and substitute whole fruits for any other sweets, real and artificial. The fiber in whole fruits slow down the absorption of sugars. This does not apply to fruit juices where the
Sugar is rapidly absorbed.
Diet sodas are full of dangerous substances that have been proven to cause health problems. Zero calories is hardly worth the potential damage to your health. If you must have something sweet, use Stevia or whole fruit. But even that may slow down your rate of weight loss. Drink plenty of water, use a bit of
Sea Salt to help all the cells stay hydrated. Try a squeeze of fresh lemon juice in water to add taste. If all else fails, try taking a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of sorghum, raw honey or Maple syrup on a spoon then drink a sip of water and swish in your mouth; most of the carbohydrate will be broken down into simple glucose before you swallow and you will get a few vital minerals.
