Please give advice


All right I have been a "vegetarian" for a little over a year and two months (I am 17) at various times I was consuming seafood, but as of right now I am not drinking milk, soda nor am I eating any type of seafood whatsoever. I am the only vegetarian in my whole family so its kind of hard to stay informed because I have no one to talk to about health issues. I really want to be healthy because I look around and it is disappointing to me how people (that I know personally as well as those I don’t) just don’t care about them selves or the environment for that matter and would rather pop pills for their medical conditions instead of eating right and taking care of themselves. I will admit when I first started being a vegetarian I did not adopt a very healthy way of eating- potato chips, soda, cookies all types of little snack foods that are not sufficient for you to receive proper nutrients but over the past year my diet has blossomed into something way better, or so I thought because I discovered "soy”. Its a good thing I am a skeptic though and I have been reading bout this "soy" and to my surprise its not what I thought it was. I have already switched over to rice milk but that is about the only thing I can. I still eat veggie burgers, soy taco etc. etc. It’s like you try to eat right and then you discover something bad about it so what am I supposed to eat then? It seems like every little single thing that has passed forth through my lips into my mouth has something wrong w/ it Can someone please explain/simplify all of this soy stuff for me because I definitely don’t want to go back to eating meat but if I am not eating soy products or meat then I know there are other foods to eat but what? Sorry about the long message but I would greatly appreciate anyone that could be of help…
