Is it true that when we accidently eat meat, we get sick?
Hi all! I'm Nova for those of you who haven't met me :)
I have been a vegetarian since I was 11 years old (9 years ago), and have gone vegan on and off through-out those years, and it was all my own personal choice.
As of right now, I eat dairy... no eggs, no fish, no meat.
While we all know how utterly rude it is for someone to purposely slip meat into our dishes, just because they don't respect our own beliefs.... unfortunately, sometimes it happens by accident.
This happened to me about an hour ago, with chicken broth. It was mixed in with a powedered topping to put on a rice dish that was labeled, "Veggie Medley." I usually always read the ingedients, but my dad doesn't. He still tries to get me to eat meat. So, he overlooked it when he bought it. I immediately spit it out, because I just KNOW what chicken tastes like! But, I did swallow a bit of it, and am a bit unnerved. I have heard that I've lost the digestive enzymes to digest meat... but I DO eat dairy. I have numerous digestive problems, as it is already. Could this have a bad reaction? *sigh*
Am I fretting for nothing?
I'm sure my dad wouldn't like it if I overlooked something disgusting in HIS dish. :\
Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated! :)
