Re: Garlic, Onions to Vegetarians?

Hi, my family and I eat garlic & onions every day and we're fine! Onions don't contain much nutritionally but may have useful Antibiotic and anticarcinogenic properties, (quickly destroyed by cooking though) and contain flavonoids - antioxidants which prevent arteries clogging. Also said to help asthma & bronchitis sufferers and stimulate liver function. You shouldn't eat large amounts of raw garlic, (more than a clove a day) if you have a hernia or stomach disorder as it contains irritants and too much garlic can also increase the risk of anaemia.
