Re: does proactiv works?
Proactiv is really really bad for your skin. It dries you out completely which could worsen acne. If you do decide to use it use a really good moisturizer like coconut oil or emu oil. I have heard mixed reviews about it and have heard that it doesn't work that well and that after some time it will stop working completely. I used it once and was severely allergic to the benezoyl peroxide. I practically broke out in hives. I have tried almost everything, proactiv, zenmed, acnease, all kinds of over the counter
Acne meds with no help what so ever. The only thing that made a difference in my complexion was taking a lot of vitamins and supplements, E, A, C, B, calcium, MSM, lecithin, saw palmetto, Primal defense, zinc, selenium, Omega 3 EFA's...I did a
Colon Cleanse which helped a lot and have done a
Liver Flush and I am scheduled to do another one next weekend. I also take maca root powder, 2 tbsps a day and eat raw garlic every morning, I am up to 2 cloves right now. I use only natural products on my face: organic tea tree soap,
Bentonite clay/organic apple cider vinegar mask, lemon/egg white mask, daily facial steams, baking soda scrub and tea tree oil. I used aloe vera gel at night for a moisturizur and coconut oil or emu oil during the day. The best way to clear
Acne is to do a body detox. There is a great 2 month regimented plan you can get at acnenomore.com. It is a book (pdf file acutally) that outlines a very clear 2 month regimen that will totally detox your body. I highly suggest it, I have learned so much for reading it. If you are detoxing your body then there is nothing that will help with the acne, you have to complete the detox for it to go away. If you are detoxing the bad stuff is going to come out, no getting around it. Good luck and I wish you the best in whatever path you decide to take.
