It was a protocol from a book called 'detox yourself' by Jane Scrivner, it was the standard detox, no wheat or most grains, meat, dairy, alcohol, caffiene etc etc, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, water, and garlic, cranberry and kelp supplements. My mistake was that I halted the detox when I started to experience acne, which in hindsight was the opposite to what I should have done, but you live and learn...
Kelp contains iodine, and I've since found out that excess Iodine can cause acne. I was taking fairly large amounts of it. I reckon you could take smaller amounts without experiencing acne, I still take it sometimes but only in small amounts.
