Im 35 and have had Acne since puberty. The only things that have ever cleared up my skin completely are:

1- The Atkins Diet. It shocked me how much my body loved the Atkins Diet. Did it for 9 mo. Felt like my body was healing from a lifetime of poisoning it with sugar/simple carbs (Ive always had a huge sweet tooth). My skin cleared up within a couple of weeks, my energy level stabilized, my appetite got under control, my PMS moodswings settled down, II stopped getting vaginal yeast infections every time I had intercourse, and my immune system was ON! While I was on it I didnt get a cold or a sniffle or a sore throat... or anything- even when everyone around me was getting sick- it blew my mind. Felt like it was really affecting my hormonal balance, too- in good ways.

Warning: If youre going to do Atkins you really need to read the whole book, understand how and why it works and do it right (!!!really important!!!). At first glance doesnt sound like the healthiest way to eat, and it surprised me, but something about it really worked for my body. When I find the discipline to eat so carefully again, I'll do a much higher-vegetable version of Atkins: Hi-protein, no-carb (except for fruits and lotsa vegetables).

Ive learned that bread and baked goods make me break out like crazy.

2- I recently did a bunch of research online about Pantothenic Acid (vit B-5) taken in megadoses and decided to give it a try- since it appears to be completely safe. At 10 grams a day (yes thats 20 pills of 500 mg- per day! but lower doses seem to work for some people) I got simply unbelievable results: in the space of a couple of days my Acne was clearing up, my skin was healing, my bumpy skin on my cheeks and forehead was getting smooth, THE PORES ON MY NOSE WERE VISIBLY SHRINKING and when I cleaned them out they stopped refilling with little blackheads and sebum, and my skin stopped getting greasy. Whats more, it had a wild effect on the skin tone all over my body: The dry scaly, bumpy skin on my butt got soft and silky, my skin- my whole body- felt firmer, younger, and I swear it seemed like my muscle tone improved overnight- my breasts even seemed to sag less. I just started to look buff! I took that dose for 5 days and then ran out (the Acne stayed away for a week and started coming back slowly- but my pores are still smaller and tighter). Im planning to start back up as soon as i find an internet supplier of Pantothenic Acid thats quality and inexpensive.
Looking up B-5: its supposed to help with all kinds of things, from obesity to weak hair and nails to depression. Its a major anti-stress vitamin and it helps the body metabolize fats and carbs. The only side effect I noticed was some tiredness and strange sleep patterns, but i was also jetlagged so that might not have been the B-5.

So I think that the 3-day-acne-fix is probably just trying to sell you information about B-5, information thats available elsehere for free, and the only thing that Ive ever heard works that fast.

Of all the bucketloads of supplements ive tried for this or that in my life, I have never had such obvious and intense results with anything as i did with the B-5.

Hoping the bits ive learned can benefit others, too.

P.S. I havent used soap or cleansers on my skin since I was a teenager, and whenever i start to things just get worse.
