Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a promising new method of cancer treatment.

PDT is a two-step process that involves infusing patients with a light-activated agent that accumulates in cancer cells. Later, the cancerous tissue is treated with a powerful laser light.

This creates a form of oxygen that destroys the cancerous cells while leaving the surrounding normal tissue unharmed.
