Flu shot letter to the editor
Got the Trenton Times to publish me yesterday:
It was amazing how big a roar the medical community made when a batch of flu shots was contaminated. It yelled that we were going to have dire consequences because not everyone would be able to get jabbed. It even became a Presidential debate topic as visions of 'The Plague' danced in the publics head.
The makers of 'Flu-Mist' took the shortage as a reason to up the promotion of its flu nasal spray. Scary how we've been taught to avoid Mono Sodium Glutamate in Chinese foods, yet each FluMist dose contains sucrose, potassium phosphate, monosodium glutamate (MSG) and
gentamicin sulfate. Yes - you sniff the item you've been told to avoid. http://www.flumist.com/pdf/patientinfo.pdf
Well, the overall supply didn't increase and less folks then ever received the injection. Restrictions were put in place that limited further who was eligible for this years most requested holiday gift.
And guess what? It is one of the slowest flu seasons ever. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/
Curious, isn't that?
