I had HSG last month and all I felt was a slight discomfort during the procedure, which takes about 10 minutes, and about 30 minutes of afterward cramps, which could be treated by a regular pain killer drug. Friend of mine also went through the procedure and felt the same. I don’t know anything about absorbance of dye by abdominal cavity cells but I heard that diagnosis of fallopian tube blockage by ultrasound (as an alternative) doesn’t give trustful results. Suggestions? I went home, slept for an hour and continued with my routine. There is nothing to worry about. I hope I could calm you a little bit. Good luck!
P.S. As a person related somehow to medicine I found it interesting looking at the dye making its way through the one tube and isn’t able to do so through another. But this is me.
