Help for my mother (GBM)

Dear All,
First I would like to say hello to everyone, and that I wish all of you and your's the best. Second, I would like any and all advice in treating my mother of her disease. She has Glioblastoma Multiforme (I do not know what grade, going to contact her oncologist in the morning). But please allow me to tell you a little more about her situation.
For a long while now she has been feeling ill. It first started approximately 3 years ago. She first started complaining about her stomach always hurting and vommiting. We thought nothing of it until she would need to "Call-In" from work. We took her to some doctor, I forgot what she specializes in, and all she gave my mother were drugs like pepcid or prevacid. It didn't help one bit.
She still went to work when she could, but one day she needed to go home early feeling very nauseous and weak. My uncle took her to the ER and they gave her an MRI. My father left work early as well to see her. He called (around 12:00 noon) to let me know and not to worry about her, I spoke to my mother and she said she was doing OK and to go to the meeting I had later that night. I didn't think anything of it, so after my sister came home from school I told her that our mother is in the hospital and that she was alright. She was worried so she called and spoke to our parents and felt a little relief.
I got ready and left for the meeting. Shortly after leaving the house I got another call from my father (around 4:30pm) telling me they found a tumor . I felt like $#!+.... I didn't know what to think. It was the saddest day of my life! I was in the meeting thinking that I would just rush home as soon as the meeting was over. I then got another call (around 7:30pm) from my little sister crying, telling me she just found out that our mother has a tumor. Words cannot explain the pain that I felt as I listened to her trembling voice. It hurt me to find out my mother has a tumor, but I didn't want my sister to find out, atleast not that way... or that soon. I couldn't even drive, a good friend drove me home.
That day was June 28, 2001. They operated on her to remove as much of the tumor as they could on July 3, 2001. Soon after came a long and hard campaign to fight the tumor. She went through chemo and radiation for quite some time (I'll post the specifics as soon as I can get them, if anyone should be interested). She seemed to be doing better and she actually eventually made it back to work. Follow-up MRI's would only show that she still had alot of the tumor....even more. I would say that it is safe to assume the chemo & radiation did not work well. She went in for another operation July 2, 2002 to remove as much of the tumor as they could (again) however this time they put wafers on the tumor. I can't remember what they were but I will post that information up soon.
Again she went through chemo w/o the radiation. That continued for a while. She had severe seizures one night in November and needed to be rushed to the hospital. She was in the hospital for almost 2.5 weeks. Within the 2.5 weeks she went into surgery again for a "shunt" to help release fluids that were building up in her skull, causing the seizures (supposedly). She came home shortly after and needed to take 2 different types of anti-convulsants, dilantin and tegratol. I don't know why she needs 2, but that is what they prescribed for her. By this time she has become very lethargic, she cannot get up out of bed. She cannot walk outside to the living room. She cannot eat on her own. She has no control over her own body. Mentally and physically, she is not herself anymore.
She also had the Gamma-Knife procedure sometime in early December 2002 (her third operation). *A week before the G-K we went in for an MRI and it showed 2 small-sized tumors growing near the original large one* And since that day she is still taking the anti-convulsants. She may need them for an indefinite amount of time. We had an MRI a few weeks post Gamma-Knife. As soon as the oncologists recieved the results they informed me that there was a significant amount of tumor still there....after all they did to...err.."for" her. They told me that she will not qualify for any other clinical trials, whatever that means. They said they have one last drug that they would like to use, but it runs a fatal risk. Being that her present state is so very weak, she may not be able to survive the chemo. I told them I didn't want her on that stuff anymore.
I stumbled upon this great website only a few days after receiving the news searching for a miracle. I looked up "glioblastoma cure" in google and found this website to be the most informative. I started my mother on Dr. Budwig's Flaxseed Oil & Cottage Cheese program. It has only been 2 weeks in. I haven't seen any changes in her behavior, but she has had this large tumor growing larger for quite some time.
This has been the WORST 3 years for my family. It seems as if we are fighting a battle destined to lose. However, I haven't given up hope for my mother. Never. I pray that she gets well. I pray that it's not too late for her. And I pray that she will live long. Long enough to see her family grow even more. To see her only son & daughter succeed in life and to enjoy all the things she's ever wanted, that we will gladly acquire for her. Because we love her, and we refuse to let some "cancer" take her away from us.
I hope some of you who have won the battle or know of anyone who has won the battle will post a message here. I have read other's posts. And they all have wonderful stories to share, I just hope I get a chance to post a success story as well. Thank you all for taking your precious time to read this post.
God bless you all,
BobbyT
