Re: Bioregionalism
Thank You Joanne!
That is the exact answer I was looking for.
I think Bioregionalism would be a great forum topic. Yahoo seems to have such a forum.
It may be an important topic, especially among the Raw Foodists. Many sites are selling Goji berries from Tibet, Agave from Mexico, Coconut from Philippines and so on. But no where do they mention that these may only be good for the people who live in those regions.
I personally love all these products. They are exotic and have incredible health benefits. Here in Canada there are few products that can compare to the reported power of these foreign foods. All we have is maple syrup and Beaver. Although maple syrup on beaver is quite fun.
On the other hand we are here on this planet to mix together many different energies. That is what is so special about North America. It is a diverse mosaic of cultures. So one might say that making love to someone outside of your climatic region is not the best either. But I say with a bit of coconut oil we can all get along peacefully and joyfully.
Consciously mixing energy is sacred, as it gives birth to a totally brand new energy. This is how we evolve and grow energetically, physically and spiritually.
So I feel that eating locally is great but eating locally combined with exotic far away foods is even better!
mmmm I'm getting hungry...
Cheers,
Jima
