How to help Emphysema?

Hello there,

I have a friend who has emphysema. It is so bad that he has to breath in Albuterol several times a day with a portable nebulizer and takes additional oral medication. He doesn't smoke and never has.

I told him about doing a liver cleanse and he seemed open to the idea. But because his condition is so serious is there more that he should do to be healed?
