Pure Kapha types (rare) are heavy, slow, and can be lethargic in mind and body. They actually lack the "rajas" that motivates movement. Garlic is a listed as Kapha-reducing food because of this property. However, Ayurveda generally does't favor it and prefers spices as a preferred method to get the Kapha type moving. Garlic is so commonly used that I felt it needed to be included in the food lists. A Kapha-Pitta type should not use garlic.
