Malic Acid
Hi Ann,
The malic acid softens the stones by dissolving parts of the stones through anionic chemical reaction.
This means that being an "acid" it is lacking in electrons and seeks a cation (molecule/atom with an extra electron) so it can relax and enjoy the flow of spirit. Carrying a negative electric charge allows the anionic chemical (malic acid) to add to the overall zeta potential of the blood, which increases the blood's ability to clean out deposits of all kinds.
Living tissues in the body have a negative charge (anionic). Toxins and dead matter are neutral or positively charged. So any kind of healthy anionic surfactant like ascorbic acid, citric acid, potassium citrate, malic acid, etc, will be attracted to, neutralize and disperse these (cationic) substances so the liver can remove them. These anionic surfactants work just like soap on grease - attracted to, surrounds and disperses for removal. This is part of the body's natural way of keeping itself clean.
Since the liver filters blood and holds its own stored toxins, these healthy acids can remove these liver pollutants too. Malic acid is particularly suited for acting on components of the gallstones.
The acids used in this way must retain their ionic charge in order to be able to use it once they are ingested. When an acid anion (malic acid) is reacted with a metal cation (positively charged magnesium), the ionic charges of both are neutralized, and the 'internal cleaning' ability of malic acid is gone before you ever even ate it! Separating the two ions again requires a lot of heat or electricity to replace that given off in the reaction. That is not something the body is capable of doing, so the magnesium malate you have eaten is no longer malic acid and will not perform the cleaning function you desire. The body relies on its environment to provide a good supply of foods, air and water containing strong anionic potential (a.k.a. negative ions).
Negative ions are everywhere but the strongest concentrations in relation to positive charged cations come from acid and sub-acid fruits, fresh picked green vegetables, negatively charged water (from clean rain and river), and breathing negative ions from the air in coniferous woods, mountains and by the sea. You can also draw in negative ions directly from spirit when your mood is very spiritual.
For the liver cleanse, the strongest effect can be obtained by using un-reacted malic acid. Winemakers use it to increase the zeta potential of their finished wine to ensure that the small solid particles remain in suspension in the wine, and not settle to the bottom. Malic acid is much cheaper than magnesium malate pills which are pretty useless, even as a magnesium supplement.
With love,
Rich
