You messed with his system and his system can NOT be wrong, thus the use of shaming behavior. When people cling to one frame of reference like it is religion, the only way they can survive unshaken is to shame you into silence or submission. Either one will do. The only way to prove them wrong is to live your life, all of the evidence in the world will likely not convince them because they are so resistant to the shaking that has to happen to change their way of thinking. It’s too threatening.
More than once I have walked out feeling like a naughty little kid. Coincidentally, my doc has also been a personal friend, and I've decided the two don't necessarily make a good mix.
