urgent* neck swelling up after car accident and chiropractor?

hi doctor,i need advice as soon as possible, my husband had a car accident and he is seeing a chiropractor 3 times a week he has problems with his neck, but the thing is that his left side of his neck swells up really bad and then the other day he pulled on a little piece of skin under his tongue that bothered him,and all the sudden warm water filled his whole cheeks, he got so scared and thought it was blood, i am not sure whats going on, he says it can be water from when they adjust his neck, but i am not sure why that is happening and he is so stubborn and refuses to go to his regular doctor for this (typical man) anyway let me know what you guys think thanks
