Dear Dr. V ,As a plumbing and heating contractor I am sure I have accumulated large amounts of copper both through osmosis and through breathing in the fine copper dust. After a full day of running copper pipe my hands, even through gloves, turn a bluish green and I get a distinguished sweet metalic taste in my mouth! The old job site myth is that the body will process the copper out. I don't really believe that at all. I would like to know with some confidence how dangerous copper is in the body and how to proceed in the future dealings with copper pipe. I would sincerely appreciate any insight that you may have to offer. thanks Grog!
