Natalie: Oops!
Oh no, Natalie. I'm the one who's truly sorry.:-( I didn't mean to sound like I was throwing a finger of accusation at you!
I know exactly what you mean and I'm in complete agreement with you. I just meant that I'm sure the researchers had genuine reason for saying that in their findings garlic was seen to cause some undesirable effects. However, given the overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary, I do not wish to align myself to their findings.
(Well, the TRUTH is that I'm of Mediterranean lineage, I would have an identity crisis if I had to abstain from olive oil and garlic! Shhh.....) Nonetheless, I find garlic rather invigorating, even if I detest it raw, but it does help in getting rid of a flu and other infective nuisances. Like you, I have never found myself feeling sleepy or dopey after consuming it. Interestingly, I do have a friend who would use tons of garlic on everything, to the point that she would empty an entire bottle of powdered garlic into a little tub of butter and top everything with it. At some point she started to develop an awful rash all over her skin which she traced back to the garlic, so she gave it up. I've always suspected however, that the rash might have been caused by an allergic reaction to the mold in the powdered garlic, as she consideres fresh to be too much of a bother, and not the garlic itself. But again, this is an unproven theory on my part.
Many blessings to you Natalie.
