They are ion cleansing machines, which work on the exact same principle as the foot pads. The only difference, aside from price, is that the foot bath uses electricity to stimulate, while the foot pads use herbs to achieve what has been called in the orient "the negative ion" effect (we understand it as an osmotic change).
I have heard very positive comments on the foot bath.
